死海にサンタがぷかぷか
Santa Claus came to the Dead Sea on November 15 ahead of the Christmas season to bring some Christmas cheer during a global pandemic.
He rode a paddleboard a few hundred yards offshore to an artificial island of salt, stuck a decorated Christmas tree in the salty bottom, and then enjoyed floating around for a bit.

自宅から禁酒法時代のウイスキー
During a recent home renovation, a New York couple found more than 66 bottles of whiskey from the Prohibition-era hidden within the walls and floorboards of their over 100-year-old home, which is said to have been built by a notorious bootlegger.
They plan to leave the empty or evaporated bottles preserved in the home, and sell the full bottles of whiskey, which are estimated at a value of around $1,000 each.
The couple said they will keep one of them to taste test.
米ニューヨーク州に住んでいる夫婦が最近、築100年以上の自宅の改修工事をしたところ、壁や床板の中に隠されていた禁酒法時代のウイスキーのボトルが66本以上見つかった。
その家は有名な酒の密売者が建てたという噂がある。
夫婦は空っぽだったり、蒸発してしまったボトルは家に残しておき、中身がちゃんと入っているボトルは売却する計画を立てている。
1本あたり推定1,000ドル（約10万4千円）前後とされている。
1本はとっておいて、夫婦で味見するとのことだ。
動物たちが渡る高架橋
In an effort to reduce accidents involving wildlife on a busy highway, Utah officials built a bridge back in 2018.
Officials released a video of the 2nd year of this overpass in use: aiding moose, porcupines, deer and even bears across the highway.
“It’s working!” they posted on Facebook.
Wildlife typically needs time to adjust, and state officials didn’t think there would be such success so soon.
山間部を走る高速道路で野生動物が車にはねられる事故を減らそうと、米ユタ州の野生生物保護当局が2018年に高架橋を設置した。
当局はこのほど、ヘラジカ、ヤマアラシ、シカ、そしてクマまでも、この橋を使って道路の上を横断する映像を公開し、「うまくいった！」とフェイスブックに報告した。
通常、野生動物は慣れるのに時間がかかることから、これほど早く成果が出るとは思っていなかったという。
