ヘリウムでワニの声が高音に

An international research team who put an alligator in a helium-filled box and made it shout won the Ig Nobel’s Acoustics prize on September 18.
They showed that helium raises alligators’ pitch.
ヘリウムを充満させた箱にワニを入れ、声を出させる実験をした国際的な研究チームが９月１８日、イグノーベル音響学賞を受賞した。
チームは、ヘリウムがワニの声の音程を上げることを確認した。

新婚世帯に６０万円の補助金

Newly married couples can receive up to 600,000 yen to cover their rent and other costs as they start a new life from next April, provided they live in a municipality adopting Japan’s newlywed support program.
来年４月以降に結婚し、新婚支援制度を導入している自治体に住むカップルは、新生活を始めるのに必要な家賃などの費用として、最大６０万円を受け取ることができる。

タージマハルが６ヵ月ぶりの再開

India’s Taj Mahal reopened on September 21 after being closed for tourists for over six months due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Daily visitor numbers have been capped at 5,000 though the average was 20,000 before the pandemic.
インドのタージマハルが９月２１日、新型コロナウイルスの影響で閉鎖されてから６ヵ月ぶりに再開した。
１日当たりの入場者数は５，０００人を上限としている。
パンデミック前の平均は２万人であった。
